An Actor's Life for Me

Wow, I am really, really, really nervous. The play is next week and I've only had -- what? -- 2 weeks of rehearsal? My lines, cues, blocking...oh woe is me, that I have so much more to work on!
So, to fill you in -- I am playing a guy. Whose rich and debonair (like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast). Who dies. Who is ressurected...somewhat. Who almost kills someone. Who almost dies again. Who is just pure awesomeness. Yep, that's me. I get to wear a tuxedo and everything. I even get an eyeliner mustache!
My cast family is great. They are such talented teens and so nice -- and hilarious! -- at the same time. If any of you are reading, I love you all thiiiiiiiiiis much!
If you could pray that I won't fail these wonderful people and make my director cry, that'd be great.
Just thought I'd fill you in on the biggest issue in my life right now.
Yo ho, yo ho, an actor's life for me!!

Your Sister in Christ,
Melissa

  1. Well good luck and hope you have a blast! I'm not really much of an actor so I didn't join the winter play this year. And I prefer to be on the soccer team rather than in the cast of a play. I'll probably sign up for back stage though. Have a great time =) Jesus loves you!

  2. Melissa don't freak out. You are awesome and you will do great!! Hey guess what? In speech we are doing panamime and I am playing a guy too. LOL! I propose to my love. Then she tells her grandma and the grandma starts hitting me with her purse. It's so funny!! I wish you could see it. I don't even want to know how I look while I do it. Probably crazy.

  3. Good luck Melissa! You'll do great. (I saw a play at the Globe a few years ago when I visited London. I can't remember which Shakespeare it was, but they went traditional and had men doing all the parts. It was cool! Have fun with your mustache ;)

Speak out. Talk with other teens right here. Let your voice be heard.
