Hey, everyone! Sorry I haven't posted lately, I've been in New Mexico, and now I'm in Arizona.
I am so happy, yes, I am a computer geek, it doesn't show on the outside, but on the inside, I am just another amazing Windows Vista. Yes, I absolutely love it! I'm typing on my dream computer that, unfortunetly, doesn't belong to me, while my Nana, my traveling buddy, is in a meeting in the other room.
There are so many political ads here, even more than in Texas. Besides Heinrich (sp?) and people who are running for the Senate in New Mexico, Obama has taken New Mexico and Arizona by storm. He has bashed McCain repeatedly, never ceasing.
So, now, you know where I stand, probably, on the Presidential issue. But I'm not going to turn this into a political debate, instead, with the elections 3 weeks away, I'm going to ask you once again to PRAY.
Yes, prayer is our most powerful tool. But what are we praying for?
How NOT to pray:
"Dear God, please let McCain win, because he's got the experience we need, even if he does have a few smile lines, I'm not picky."
-or-
"Dear God, make Obama win! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Because he's young and McCain's old and Obama is nice, I think, really nice."
No, that's not the way to do it. Ya know why? You are not God. You do not know who is going to serve our country best. God knows. So, instead, pray that God's hand will be upon Obama and McCain, that is the best thing we can do, since most of you reading this blog cannot vote.

Can you say "please"?
"BUT I WANT IT!"
I looked at my little sister whose face was as red as a tomato.
"I want that toy!" she yelled.
My other sister, the youngest, held a baby doll in her hands.
"Jessie, you can’t get that toy by screaming," I told her.
"But I want it!" Jessie wailed.
"No. You can’t have it. Wait until she’s done playing with it."
Later that night, I sat in my bed. I always pray at night, so I can talk to God about my day. I found myself asking and asking for countless things. I stopped. While it was good to be praying, all I was doing was basically TELLING God to do it. "Dear God, please help me do well in school tomorrow, please help me do well with my riding lesson, please bless my family tomorrow, please…." I noticed that if I took out the word "please", I was just demanding that God do it. Hopefully demanding. Please really doesn’t mean anything unless you are sincere.
So, when you pray this week, focus on praising God instead of telling him what you want.

"Hey, God! I was just about to call you!"
Yeah, I have a cell phone. And it rocks. Normally, if you're not a computer whiz and can't send an email, your hand gets tired from writing snail-mail (and you can't find the stamps), you can't hog the home phone, or you can't just walk over, you need a cell phone to call a friend.
And even then, sometimes friends will say, "Ya know, dude, I'm busy. Could ya call back later? Like, tomorrow or somethin'?"
Well, God is your BEST friend, even though you might not know it yet. You don't need a computer, stamps, or a phone to talk to him. You don't even need to drop by his house. He's right there with you, all the time. He won't put you off if someone else wants to talk to him. He'll listen to you both (like your mom, God is a great multi-tasker). And, just like a friend, he totally doesn't want to be ignored. He can give you the BEST advice, better than your friends who say they've "been there & done that". So, go ahead, call God right now! Go find a quiet spot, or pray wherever you are. Close your eyes or don't. Bow your head, kneel, or raise your hands. Whatever. Just talk to him.
(The best part? He won't run down your cell minutes!)

Prayer Point: Steven Curtis Chapman
Please pray for the singer Steven Curtis Chapman. I'm sure you've heard of him -- he's written songs such as Broken and Dive.
Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife had 3 kids of their own -- boys. Then they adopted 3 little girls from China.
Why pray for him and his family? One of his sons was in the car and drove into the driveway, accidently running into his little sister, the youngest Chinese girl in the family. She died.
So please, please pray for Steven and his family for the whole month or longer. He needs it.
