The Beatles knew the importance of love. Love was the theme to most of their songs. "Love, love me, do. You know I love you. I'll always be true. So please love me, too." And then there's the classic, "All you need is love, love, love...."
Nowadays, when we turn on the TV and a Pepsi commercial pops up, we start singing the 2008 Song of the Year. "What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more."
So, I ask you, "What is love?"
So many people in this world don't have it. They're desperately trying to find it, but the problem is that they are looking in the wrong place.
Love doesn't have to come from the opposite gender. Love comes in its purest, finest, form when it is from God.
Yeah, you saw it coming, didn't you? God created love, so of course he is the ultimate source for love. Think of a river. Yeah, there's water flowing down so people can have it, but this water isn't the purest, it isn't the best. You find the best water straight at the source, before it picks up all the dirt and rocks along the way downstream.
"Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres. Love never fails." - 1 Corinthians 13 (just a small dose of it)
I'm homeschooled, and one of my assignments was to get my bible and memorize 1 Corinthians 13. But it wasn't the mushy stuff that I expected. It was about the love that God shows us and that we are to show other people. Let's give that clean, pure, and life-giving love to other people who don't have it!

Pray it: Dear God, please help me to show your love -- real, pure, and genuine love -- to others who need it. Amen.

Great post. I liked the water example. 1 Corinthians 13 is sometimes refered to as "the love chapter"
ReplyDeleteLove...the world searches in vain in earthly relationships. In Christ alone we find love. I've written some blogs on love which you can check out (they shouldn't be too hard to find since they normally have a title with love in them lol). Keep writing for His glory and renown!
